Veronica Decker | Here's What I Do

Since 1984, Veronica Decker, has counseled over 1,000 cancer patients, limiting her practice to individuals who have a history of cancer, or family members of a patient experiencing cancer or going through treatment using cognitive, behavioral, and educational approaches.

Most recently she has authored and published through the Oncology Nursing Society a book, “Coping with Cancer: A Patient Pocketbook” (Oncology Nursing Society, 2009). Little did Veronica know that, when she wrote the handbook, it would be one she would use herself after being diagnosed with breast cancer in early 2009.

Ms. Decker is very much in demand to present advanced workshops for health care professionals and the public on the topic of cancer in the United States. And she has presented to many nursing and psychology conferences.

She actively conducts research, published educational and self-help materials for cancer patients, and promotes lifestyle and wellness activities. Ms. Decker’s practice is located at both Royal Oak and Rochester Hills’ offices of Cancer Care Associates.
